So I noticed I have a few new friends here on this little blog of mine! I thought it would be fitting to share a little bit about myself, then you can tell me a little about yourself :) You know, like in Elementary School when the teacher made you stand up and say your name as well as something about yourself. Yeah...I hated that too ;) But we're all friends here, right?
-My name is Rachel.
-I am 26 years old, married to my best friend, and momma to 2 lazy cats.
-I have a professional background in Interior Design, but am now a full time jewelry designer due to this crummy economy, and part time designer/seamstress. I love being creative in general...it makes me happy.
-I also have a small love affair with fashion ;)
-I love pizza and junk food and can make an entire meal of Reese's Cups, Pepsi, and Dorito's.
-I have 7 siblings total but only 1 full-blooded sister. The rest are halves and steps. Life is never dull that's for sure!
-I have been a country music lover for as long as I can remember.
Okay, now your turn!

Silver Lining in Real Life!
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the gorgeous Aubrey of Proudly Petite. She ordered one of my handmade necklaces and I am so excited today because she has posted a photo of herself wearing it! I love seeing my pieces in real life action because so often I make pieces that I absolutely adore, then ship them off to never see again!
So here's the necklace:
And here it is in action!
So cute, huh?! I would love to make this a monthly feature if I can get more photos! So, if you own a Silver Lining Decor piece, send me a photo of you wearing it and I will feature you!
A special thanks to Aubrey for being so sweet and such a pleasure to work with.
xo Rachel!

A Few of My Favorite Things...
I can't believe it's Friday already! Where did this week go? We had a few amazing spring-like days and now it's back to cold, and even a 90% chance of snow tomorrow night! I'm completely over the snow! I'm so ready to start wearing sandals, sundresses and tank tops!
I tried to get in one last dinner on the grill tonight before the cold and rain sets in again for the next couple of days. It still was a bit chilly but I figured it would be worth it-until we ran out of propane! Mid cooking. My luck.
Anyway, with the warmer weather always comes theneed want to shop for new spring accessories whether it be for yourself or your home! I decided to make a treasury today including some of my current favorite Etsy finds. Things I need in my life!! Maybe you'll enjoy some of my picks and then I can live vicariously through you!

Spring Has Finally Sprung!
Today has been another glorious 70 degree day. How can you not be in a good mood with temps like that?! Everything in my yard is coming to life again.
Bulbs are blooming! I am patiently awaiting the tulips to pop open!
My daffodils finally decided to come out and say hello today!
We've even got wild pansies popping up everywhere from the ones that we planted last year. Pansies are supposed to be annuals, but for some reason they have come back in a wild way for the past 2 years.
And I am anxiously awaiting the return of my peonies!! They're starting to shoot up now, so exciting! :)
Our clearance Pear Tree that we got for $9 at the end of the season 2 years ago has the prettiest spring blooms!
We even took advantage of the warmer weather and longer days by grilling BBQ last night on the patio!

Spring Wardrobe
Geeze, it's been a while, huh? Life has been crazy lately but I'm still here! I thought I'd share a little of what I've been up to in what little spare time I have had these days.
I have been having tons of fun working on some new pieces for spring. Really, I just love color so any time of the year you take a look into my shop it looks a bit like spring!
I have been playing around alot with interesting color combinations and I just love the turquoise and deep plum going on in this one!
Navy and white are classic, and I decided to give it a real jolt with the hot pink rosary style chain! Also, I am a little obsessed with vintage enamel flowers right now!

Another classic color combo. I have said it before, I love the clean look of milk glass. So these little jewels were calling out to me!
I have hair just above my shoulders in a swing bob, so post earrings are my go-to everyday choice. I wear longer dangles on many occasions, but in my day to day I love throwing in a pair of these for instant bling!!
And lastly, a piece ready for summer! I found this gorgeous vintage Monet starfish brooch and fell in love. I wanted to give it a beachy feel with the aqua glass pearls mixed with the natural colored ones.
I've got tons of other new pieces I am working on as well. I'm trying to get use to the time change and when's the best time to take photos now! It's got me all mixed up ;)
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!

Stairway to Heaven?
Okay, so I couldn't resist using that title! Don't hate ;)
Natasha, over at Schue Love, posted a photo of these stairs in her colors for Mardi Gras and I fell in LOVE! Aren't they amazing? I was a little obsessed a few years back with painted risers, and am falling in love with this idea all over again.
I believe this one is done using stencils, but this photo had me thinking about all the other possibilities for decorative stair risers.

What do you think? Would you consider stenciling or wallpapering your stair risers? I've been wanting to rip the carpet off of our staircase for a while now and I think this would be a fun addition to an entryway with stairs. (all images via google)

Retail Therapy, Anyone?
Hello, and happy Monday! No? Okay, we'll just ignore the fact that it's Monday and look at some pretty clothes instead!
The good news is that it's March and with the warmer weather not too far off in the future, I am itching to add some new pieces to my wardrobe! I was browsing one of my favorite online boutiques, Ruche, and came across some things that are begging to come live in my closet!! I'd be more than happy to let these pretties stay awhile ;)

Love the colors and print on this one!
I'm definitely a dress girl. I love throwing one on with a pair of tights or bare legs and sandals and being able to run out the door!
Love this top!! Check out the back; so much fun!
This top would be in my cart as we speak if it weren't already sold out! My luck.
So what are your must-haves for spring? Do you have a go-to piece in your closet that never lets you down?
