Before and After

I have been holding on to a pair of prints I ordered from Etsy for over a year now just waiting to find the right frames at the right price for them.  I have kept my eyes peeled for fun pair of vintage frames, but that's hard to come by sometimes.  Well, I finally came across a sale at Michael's that was too good to be true!
I got two of these fairly ornate frames for $13 each, and a pair of new, plain white mats for a couple dollars each.  The gold is not really my style, but I knew they would have the right look when painted white.

Much different, right?  I love the way they turned out!  I like to use a little trick to make small prints appear more substantial.  These prints measured 8x10, I then added an 11x14 mat and frame to give a larger appearance.  The prints are on the contemporary side, and the frames have a nice traditional feel.  I like playing around with mixing the two styles together.

A master bedroom update coming soon!!

  1. That's truly awesome. The gold is not my style, either, but it looks so fresh and clean white!! I'm getting ready to move to a new place (hopefully) and redecorate, so I'm looking forward to your decor updates! BTW, where didja get the adorable prints??
