So I still have not put up any more Christmas decorations because there has just been no time, but I did manage to snap a few pictures of my minimal displays. My tree is still half decorated so I will wait to share that til it's done(which may be after Christmas at the rate we're going).
Over the years I have collected many beautiful vintage glass ornaments. I usually display them in a huge collection of apothecary jars as the centerpiece of my farmhouse table, but this year I kept it simple in one jar in my kitchen.
I have the huge vintage pink glass pick, that fits just perfectly in a vintage planter also in my kitchen.
I love how the colors of these ornaments all work with my vintage plate wall.
I am happy to report that I finally got drawer pulls to put on this cabinet! Woohoo!
My last little display is a collection of vintage style glittery houses and bottle brush trees I put on top of my armoire.
Last, I have a little hardwood floor reveal. This is the first time I have shared my family room with you guys. The funny thing is that we spent all that time installing hardwood floors, only to cover them up with an area rug! Remember the Dash and Albert rug I blogged about? The sofas aren't my favorite thing in the room, but about 6 years ago I had them custom made and spent a pretty penny on them so they will have to stick around for a while. It's funny how our tastes can change so quickly.
I need to paint the base and refinish the top of my coffee table now that my rug is green. The two greens don't match so I will probably go with a creamy white.
Hope your holiday shopping and decorating is going well!

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas
Tuesday, my husband and I finally had the chance to take a day for ourselves. It was much needed "us" time. What did we decide to do with "our" time, you ask? Well, we climbed up a ladder to which we both have a horrible fear of hights and hung our Christmas lights! Yes, very exciting here, people. We keep it fairly simple, but still want a little festive cheer, so we use the icicle lights on our roof and wrap the porch in pre-lit green garland and green topiary pre-lit trees.
If I were a little more courageous I would try to put the lights on our dormer windows, but I really value my life more than that ;)
We also pulled out our tree, and spent about an hour trying to figure out what section of lights plugs into what. After failing miserably, pulled out the goold ol' extension cord and plugged in all the leftover plugs and voila! We had a lit tree. I then pulled out about 1/8th of our usual Christmas decorations and called it a day. I might get around to adding a few more things to the decor, but for now this is as good as it's going to get.
I will share the tree and decorations another day. How's your holiday decorating going? Do you go all out or keep it simple? Do you put lights up outside? I'd love to hear about it!

A whirlwind weekend
After weeks and weeks of preparation, this weekend went by in the blink of an eye. I was invited to set up a booth at an out of town holiday market and I cannot tell you how much fun it was! The weeks leading up to the event were hectic to say the least(which partly explains my absence of posts) but well worth it in the end. I also met some really amazing and talented people.
I hope you are all doing well and I hope to get back to my normal life sometime soon so I can catch up with you all!
Setting up the display is always the hardest part for me when I do these shows. I had 2 tables and a wall of linen dress forms. I was lucky to have my sweet husband there with me for 2 of the 3 days. He has a good eye for these sorts of things. In the end I was happy with how it turned out and the show was a major success! I sold out of almost all of my one of a kind necklaces so I need to get going on some new designs!
And here are some new pieces that I took with me to the show but have not had time to add to the shop until tonight. I will be working on a few more new goodies for my next show coming up in 2 weeks!Ruby red just in time for Christmas!

A few random things...
My mom has turned into a Pinterest junkie. She emails me the funniest things, which in turn has brought me to the site on several occasions. Here are some of my latest finds that I thought were worth sharing.
Poor kitty.
Weird, but cute in a weird way.
Yummmm! I need to make these!
GORGEOUS!! Makes me miss my long hair!
Fun nails!
Too funny.
In love. I am definitely going to try this.
Are you on Pinterest? Don't you love all of the amazing images?

This Crazy Life
Boy, have things been hectic around this little house of ours! I just wanted to drop in and say hello. I miss checking in on all of my favorite blog girlfriends, but I have been up to my eyeballs in work. The hardwood floors are DONE, thank goodness! Check that off my list. I promise to share pictures as soon as I have a minute to get good ones in good daylight. I have been doing a huge update to my mother in law's house including a totally remodeled kitchen, new furnite for the kitchen, dining, and living room. New window treatments, paint, art, accessories, and the end of this week we will be tiling about 700 square feet of flooring! Woohoo! Can you sense the sarcasm in that "woohoo"? Really, I enjoy the work but I have a thousand other things on my mind right now.
It's officially "the holiday season"(in my mind at least) so I have got a few holiday shows to get ready for, which of course means some new products! I am so excited to share with you a whole new line of sweater guards. I won't picture them all, but you can click on any one of them to take you to the shop section.

Well, there's a few more but blogger decided to not let me add photos anymore tonight so I guess that's all I will share! Hope you are all doing well!

Under Construction
I have been m.i.a. for the past week because my husband and I have been on vacation! Well, not the sort of vacation one dreams of. In fact, it's been quite the opposite. We have been knee deep in renovations that are finally coming to a close. I am going to give just a little sneak peak to hold you over til it's done ;)
Remember my stair stencil post, here? Well, I've decided to take the leap now that we've removed our crummy old stair carpet! I've got a little more work to do to the stairs before I can stencil, but I am super excited to put the plan into action! I figure it's only paint so if I get tired of it, all I have to do is paint over it and no harm done.
Here are the 3 top contendors for the stencils. Which would you pick?
The best part is that my husband is totally on board with this idea!

Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway! I loved reading about your favorite Halloween costumes. My favorite of all time was a Minnie Mouse costume my mom made for me when I was about 5 years old. I had a Minnie Mouse head, big white gloves, and the red dress. It was definitely memorable.
And now onto the winner of the giveaway.....

Vintage Plate Wall Reveal
Finally, after collecting plates for a very long time, I put it all together and couldn't be happier with the results! I collected vintage plates in various colors, patterns, and sizes for a casual, effortless feel. I also opted to hang the plates by using hidden discs on the back for a clean look.
With the exception of 2 anthropologie plates, I purchased all of these dishes for under $4 each at various places like yard sales, flea markets, and antique shops.
I started hanging very randomly. I orginally thought that I would lay them all out and come up with the perfect placement for each, but I decided that would be too much trouble and I just boldly started hanging! Could have turned out very bad but I think I did okay ;)
You may notice one broken one at the bottom. I have Salem, my cat, to thank for that... It will eventually get replaced.
I also painted the cabinet below the plates a pale aqua. Before it was a darker turquoise and I wanted a lighter feel with the airy plates. I'm now looking for some new drawer pulls for it.
So, what do you think? I am completely in love!

Beautiful Brights
Does my blog look strange to anyone else? It was normal this morning and now all of the lettering is super big and boxy. Weird.
Anyway, I have been doing a little decorating around here and guess what! I finally put up the plate wall!! I'm so excited to share it with you as soon as I take pictures! For now, I am obsessed with some new bedding and rugs. I have been searching and searching for new rugs. They are really hard to find in my colors at a decent price but I managed to find a few.
For my kitchen I ordered this one today from Dash and Albert:

I've never owned one of their rugs before but I have heard great things and they are super affordable. The designer has several huge dogs and she designs her rugs with pets and families in mind.
I'm planning on ordering this one for my family room:
Above rug also from Dash and Albert. While googling rugs, I also came across a few from Garnet Hill. I get their catalog but I don't usually rummage through it very often so I was shocked when I came across so many fun things online! I ordered this runner below for my hallway and I am so excited to get it!
Garnet Hill also carries Lily Pulitzer bedding that is super fun! I am really in love with the Sister Florals collection. Mostly the Scarlet Begonias.
I am also loving the Piper duvet cover from Pine Cone Hill. Which do you like better? Garnet Hill(above) or Pine Cone Hill(below)?
I'm looking forward to making a few changes around here to prepare for the long, cold, winter months!
While browsing Garnet Hill I found a few other pieces I thought were worth sharing. I am so in love with this turned poster bed.
And how cute are those cubes at the foot of the bed!
Adorable! I want one of these, and...
and one of these in every color!! I'm very much drawn to the tangerines in these two items.
Don't forget to enter my giveaway below! Winner will be announced this Friday.

Silver Lining in Real Life: Wedding Edition
I haven't done one of these posts in a while, so I am thrilled to bring you the beautiful and super sweet Nicole! Nicole contacted me about one of my necklaces a few months ago. She wanted me to make my turquoise and coral multi strand necklace in a custom color combo to wear for her wedding ceremony.
Here's the original necklace:
Nicole wanted to use the turquoise beads but change the coral out for a bright orange. The combination was so striking and I love a bride who has fun with her jewerly!
Here is how Nicole looked in her necklace! Isn't she gorgeous?! I was so honored to make something for her special day :)

Baggage
My birthday is now 10 days away. I have mixed feelings about this because yes, birthdays are fun, but it also means I am getting closer and closer to the big 3-0. I know 30 is no biggie, and I still have a few years left but it's hard to believe how quickly the years go by. For the record, I will be 27 ;)
I don't think I've had a suprise birthday gift since I was about 12. My mom is of the mind set that she'd rather just get us something we want than try to figure it out on her own. I decided I wanted a new handbag, which you might remember in a previous post. I orginally wanted this gorgeous leather bag made by an etsy seller in Morocco, but then it sold the day after I posted pictures about it. It happened to be a blessing in disguise because the bag was enormous and would not have worked for everyday wear.
It's up for sale again and really is absolutely amazing, it's just not right for me. Here's a refresher of what it looked like:
After scouring the web I found THE bag for me! My mom already ordered it and I can't wait to see it in person! It's the Vintage Re-Issue bag made by Fossil and is the perfect size, shape, style, and leather I wanted!
I am now obsessed with the Fossil Cheetah Clutch. It's perfect for those days when you don't want to lug around an entire bag and it's destined to be mine!
Do you have a must-have bag for this season? Please share, I'd love to hear what you are lusting over!
