Loving Right Now-Vintage Edition

Hello, ladies!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I had a wonderful weekend as I try to take in these last warm days we are having.  I don't know when it will end, but I am holding onto it as long as I can!

I went to my sweet friend's baby shower which I will share with you shortly, but for now I am sharing what I am loving right now-the vintage edition!  I feel like I have a never ending wish list.  Do you ever feel like that?

Right now I am loving these southwestern style vintage woven belts.  The colors are amazing and the worn leather just speaks to me!

  All belts via etsy.
Jeans, boots, and a simple tee would be pure casual perfection with one of these belts!

Continuing on with the woven patterns, I am completely obsessed with this messenger bag!
Do you love??

Okay, these are not vintage, but they are too pretty to leave out of this 'what I am loving' post!  The cooler weather always has me searching for cozy and stylish scarves and these lightweight printed infinity scarves are perfect for the start of the season.  Made by shannabanana on etsy.  I think I may order 1 for myself and 1 for my sister's birthday!  She and I actually celebrate our birthdays exactly 1 week apart.

Vintage paint by numbers-so cute!  Would fit perfectly into my house :)

How amazing are these vintage tables?  They have been revamped with a gorgeous floral/bird print fabric on the drawer fronts.  Also found on etsy.

So what are you loving right now?  Anything on your fall wardrobe list?  Or maybe a must have to cozy up your home for the colder months?

Fall into Fashion

Fall is just around the corner, which also means my birthday is rapidly approaching...Mom, if you're reading here are some helpful hints ;)  I love, love, love the summertime for all the easy, comfortable shorts, tanks and sandals.  BUT there is nothing like the beauty of fall.  We have actually been having fairly cool nights around here lately which has got me thinking about my fall wish list.

First up is a must! I have been carrying the same bag for years because I really love it and it's a classic soft camel colored leather satchel, but it's seen better days. Right now this is my top pick for it's replacement.

I love blousey, flowey tops paired with skinny jeans and boots so this top would fit nicely into my wardrobe.

Lightweight sweaters for sure.

LOVE.

And love.

The perfect girly touch to even out the heavy boots and large leather bag.

Throw in some fun accessories *wink wink* and voila!  Ready for fall!

What are your fall must haves?  Is there something in particular you fall back on every year?

Once again I have been working my little fingers to the bones!  I have added some new goodies to the shop, in addition to making a large order for a local boutique, as well as a custom bridesmaid order for one of my clients!  Whew!  Someone want to take me on vacation with them?? ;)  Juuuust kidding-I love doing this and wouldn't change a thing!

Let's take a look at what's new!

This necklace screams bride with "something old, something new, and something blue" all in one!

A funky bracelet made from gobs of vintage chains and pearls.

I love the colors of this one with the fun vintage pink and black flower accent!

Two new ruffled rose necklaces.

The most unique vintage emerald green glass marble necklace!

A one of a kind piece made up of all upcycled vintage finds!

There you have it!  A few of my new goodies!  For more, check out the shop!

A thing for turquoise

I am noticing I have a serious thing for turquoise.  I like it paired with just about any color-pink, red, yellow, green, white, purple-all good turquoise companions!

Here are some new goodies in the shop-almost all featuring a turquoise appearance!

A large cheerful vintage turquoise enamel daisy hangs on bright red vintage glass beads.

A long necklace featuring turquoise glass briolettes that fade to aqua, then white in the center.

A romantic necklace featuring upcycled vintage turquoise beads and a gorgeous ruffled pink rose.

A whimsical bracelet featuring turquoise faceted glass beads and a gold sparrow!

No turquoise here, but new in the shop is a great nautical or patriotic necklace for this summer featuring a vintage enamel flower and upcycled bright red vintage beads!

So there you have it!  Just a few of my new pieces showing off my love of turquoise!  What colors are you drawn to this summer?

Silver Lining Anthroholic Style

A few years ago my friend Elizabeth sent me a link to a blog that she thought was right up my alley.  She and I were working together at the time and she knew my love of Anthropologie.  I really had not yet entered the world of blogs, but I clicked on the link and I was hooked!

The link took me to an amazing community of self proclaimed "Anthroholics" with Kim being the author of the blog.  She shares her inspiring daily outfits, mostly styled in Anthropologie clothing.  Kim is such a sweetheart and builds genuine relationships with her readers, and over time she and I have developed a great friendship!  If you haven't already, you must check out Anthroholic!

Kim and I share a love of vintage and vintage inspired style, so she just happens to be a fan of Silver Lining as well!  I now present to you 'Silver Lining in Real Life' Anthroholic style!

Kim is wearing her glass pearl cluster necklace from Silver Lining Decor.  Similar necklaces can be found here, here, here and here

As always, if you would like to be featured in your Silver Lining jewelry, send your photos to silverliningdecor1@yahoo.com.

A New Addition

I am so excited because this weekend I finally pulled the trigger on a dress form to use when photographing my jewelry!  It's something I have wanted, and needed for a while.  I never make necklaces too long because I can't ever picture them the way I'd like to with the small bust I was using.  So now I feel like I can offer more of a variety.  This one just happens to be a Banana Republic form which makes it pretty cool too :)

It's a little strange every time I walk into the room and see a life-size manakin standing there-but I'm sure I'll get use to her!

Check out the difference she makes.

What do you think?  Do you think this helps to give a better idea of the scale of these necklaces?  I am loving it and looking forward to re-taking more photos!

New Arrivals

I have added some new pieces to the shop and thought I'd share them with you!

In this first piece, I used the most unique vintage enamel flower.  I've never seen anything like it in all my time spent antiquing!  I am loving the dramatic black.

This necklace is one of my favorites!  It takes hours to make, but the end result is well worth it!  A dramatic statement piece that can be dressed up or down.  I can picture this necklace with jeans and a t-shirt or a fancy party dress!

Lastly, a cool combo of gun metal gray and amber topaz for a unique piece!  Another necklace that I feel can be dressed up or down.

Happy Tuesday!

Extended Offer

Looks like the wonderful temps are here to stay!  Yesterday we were in the 80's and today is looking like a comfortable 75 degree day!  I love it.  And in honor of the beautiful spring weather, and of course my 2 year anniversary, I have decided to extend my free gift offer in my shop for another week!  Offer will end on April 18th.

These little earrings are the perfect every day posts to add a little vintage charm!

I went to a bead show this weekend-which was a first for me.  It was loaded with all the beads and findings you could ever imagine.  I have been really into chunky stone beads lately and they were all the rage at this show!

I ended up coming out with these amazing faceted glass beads that I turned into a few necklaces.

I love the simplicity of this one.  The milky colors are so soft and soothing.

This one is so sparkly and pretty!  It's still very simple and easy to wear, but adds just the right amount of umph to an outfit!

I was feeling the cool beachy tones as you can see ;)  I think I'm subconciously dreaming of a vacation to someplace like this-

Oh yeah, that would work ;)  Now that we're getting closer to the summer months, do you have any beach vacation plans?  If so, where are you going??  I'd like to live vicariously through you so please share!  haha

Vintage Love and a Grand Opening

I don't think I have said this before but I have a background in Interior Design.  And while I have worked on many high end homes, and enjoy all design styles, my personal taste(partially because I am young and broke so I have to be thrifty!) is vintage/eclectic.  I love the thrill of the hunt and finding that amazing piece to come home with me to have a new life!   To me, vintage brings a comforting, warm feel to a home and reminds me of simpler times.

Now onto my exciting news!  I have been working on opening a new Etsy shop to share my love for all things vintage!  So I now present to you...

The Golden Nest is my new Etsy shop!  I am offering fun, unique vintage finds, as well as upcycled, repurposed vintage items!  Here's a little sample of what you might find in my shop!

Painted Mirrors

Funky Wall Decor

Upcycled Chalk Boards

Retro Accessories

Fun, right?  I think everyone could use a little vintage in their home ;)  I hope you will stop by and check out my new shop!

And remember the "Sneak Peak" I posted about a while back?  Well, I decided that I needed a chalkboard for my kitchen!

(sorry for the poor photo quality here, lighting in my kitchen is terrible!)

Do you love it?!  I do!  Remember my crazy, colorful kitchen? It fits in just perfect in a strange corner between my fridge and cabinets.  A chalk board is the perfect piece for keeping lists, or just telling a sweet someone you love them ;)  I found that ugly old painting and knew it was the perfect size and style for what I wanted to do with it!  I think the blue adds a fun touch as well.

I hope you and your special someone have an amazing Valentine's Day!
